My scanner has been broken during the summer, and I didn't have time to get the cables it needed etc. I apologize for that.
I have a film production class, and we're in groups of four. It's awkward working when everybody is at least four years older than you, though. I mean, something just makes it a school environment instead of a professional one, and it's just awkward...
Notes on games I have played since the last journal,
Wolfenstein:
I am a die-hard fan of the series largely because of my obsession with DOOM. Wolfenstein is much better balanced than its predecessor Return to Castle. There are weapon upgrades which just triples the fun for me. Most impressive, though, is the length of the single-player. I was impressed. The downside, though, I suppose is that there are not that many special enemy encounters. Though, if you're one to be insecure of ammunition and such, it is a pro as a reassuring factor. There are special abilites as well, which adds a great twist. You'll have to use it every now and then. It's a nice challenge that requires some thinking but isn't too hard. I must recommend it.
Timeshift:
By Sierra. It is a little short, and the story is only half-hearted once you get halfway through. The guns are fun to shoot, but they are somewhat unbalanced. Some guns are just way too powerful and cheap. You'll really have to think in four dimensions when you're practically just hiding behind cover waiting for a recharge or you're activating your time abilities. Even a as a FPS nut, this game threw me for a bit of a loop. There's a bit of a learning curve. Not worth it, I'd say.
Lode Runner:
I found it. OMG. xD Soooo good.
Hearts of Iron:
See, THIS is why I like Dominions 3. Hearts of Iron is fun if you like that sort of micromanagement thing, but I swear, this game takes it too far. Way too far. Oh Lord... Also, the backdrop of WWII is getting very meh to me. I think you might be taking hours to make a turn. I didn't get that far. Definitely not recommended for those who are not familiar with this kind of game.
Crysis Warhead:
Most games average 10 hours of play. If so, this one was like...two. And there is no story. Granted, I guess the team wasn't focusing on the single player campaign, but...ugh. Not worth it unless you're a fan and you only play multiplayer.
Need for Speed Undercover:
If you're a racing fan, you'll hate this game as much as all other NFS games. If you're into arcade racing, you'll find some entertainment, but not too much if you're decent. It's difficulty isn't challenging, and racing can become repetitive even with different courses. If you see this lying around for ten or fifteen dollars and you're into this stuff, you may want to get it just so you can throw down a race once in a while. If you buy games, that is, haha. Graphics are much improved from UG2. Car customization never did anything for me, but I guess there are a few options there. As a racing fan, I finished this game in just a couple of days. I only "keep it around" since I have it on my external hard drive.
SWAT 4/SWAT 4 Stetchkov Syndicate:
I was impressed with the challenge and such. Each time you play a map, civilians and targets are placed randomly. Lots of replay value. Very good classic SWAT challenge. Really checks your replexes in real time, now more than ever. Graphics could use a boost. It looks a bit like a budget game. There are some flaws, however. You can't manually wrestle somebody down, for instance. Even if they have been hit with CS, Stinger balls, and your hand-held pepper spray... Not worth the buy unless you're a SWAT fan.
Other:
What does a film/business major, a philosophy/English major, and a History/Environmental Science major have in common? They're roommates. I swear, some things are so random.
Why does it take a year and a half to knock out core classes and gateway courses for two schools? I think that's insane. Dang universities...

Run for cover and you'll find us there
To take on the anger, make it disappear
When razor blades were softly serenading you
Run for cover as fast as you can
Where fighters are lovers, enemies are friends
And pens and knives apologize for leaving you
Whether you are or not, I'm sure I look enough like a creeper right now so you are free to feel stalked lol.
